Stanton Parish had mini-photostims disguised as grid protectors placed installed in large cities across the nation to make Alphas the majority instead of the minority. Set to go off on the 150th anniversary of when Parish discovered that he is an Alpha, the mini-photostims were made to enhance the powers of Alphas and/or turn non-Alphas into Alphas. Unfortunately, the majority of non-Alphas and some Alphas would die immediately; which were necessary casualties in the eyes of Stanton Parish.
Skylar, who was abducted and forced to create the mini-photostems, was enlisted to help put a stop to Parish's plans. It would take too long to take all of the mini-photostems out of the grid protectors across the U.S., so they must be sure that the power is out in all the targeted cities. She was the only one who could shut it down and asks for components. teams up with Rachel and a reluctant Kat, who is doing it for Bill. After turning the power off across all of New York, 1930s generators kick on in Grand Central Station, providing power to Grand Central Station and surrounding areas. The trio go to the station to shut down the generators.
Meanwhile, Dr. Lee Rosen, against Parish's orders, was shot by Kowalka. Due to the loss of blood and going into shock, Rosen had an hallucination of Danielle. The hallucination Danielle told Rosen to get stitched up, stop Parish and avenge her death. Rosen went to a friend who used her Alpha ability as best she could to help him, but she couldn't heal him and told him to go to a hospital. After wandering around for a while, Hallucination Danielle told Rosen to remember what Mitchell said, "I'm going to watch the world change with a god's eye view".
Rosen went to the hospital, where Gary was because his mother had had some strokes and slipped into a coma, and asked Gary to help him look for a "god's eye view". Gary told him that Parish was on a board of directors at the architectural firm that built the Empire State Building. Rosen said goodbye to Gary, fully expecting to die. Hallucination Danielle suggested that Rosen figure out how Parish heals. After he came up with a theory, Rosen went back into the hospital and stole drugs that he believed would inhibit Parish's ability to heal himself. Then Rosen tried to get to the Empire State Building, but was confused. Hallucination Danielle told him to take the shuttle to Grand Central Station.
Gary was talking to his comatose mother about Rosen being upset about Danielle's murder and his apparent want to murder Stanton Parish She woke up and told Gary to help Rosen.
A delirious Rosen arrived at Grand Central Station and looked up at a mural on the ceiling. Hallucination Danielle took his hand and told him that it was a "god's eye view". Rosen realized that Stanton Parish was there and soon finds him at a shoe shinning station. Parish saw Rosen as well and met him half way, said that there was an hour until the mini-photostims would go off (at 8:18 pm) but then disappeared into a crowd. Dr. Rosen followed Parish through Grand Central Station until the power went out. Everyone stopped and stood in darkness, except Parish, until the lights came back on because the 1930s generators had kicked on. When the power came back on in Grand Central Station, Gary found Dr. Rosen. He told Rosen that it was his turn to help him and Dr. Rosen gave in.
Back at DCIS HQ, Nina got a call from Gary, who explained that he was at Grand Central Station with Rosen. Cameron figured out that Rosen must be there to stop Parish, so rushed off to help Rosen. On his way out, Nina stopped him to tell him to be safe and tenderly kissed him.
John told Rachel that they were moving the command center to a safe location and wanted her to go with him, but she refused because she felt that she must help Rosen and Cameron. He pointed out that she nearly died the last time she was exposed to a photostim, but this didn't change her mind. John then brought up the convoy and said that he needs to be able to trust the woman he loves. Rachel was pleasantly surprised by this, but still chose to help Rosen.
Back at GCS, Gary and Dr. Rosen were forced to separate because Gary couldn't get good reception and he needed to look for Parish on the security cameras. After Gary walked away, a man approached Dr. Rosen holding a cellular phone and handed it to him. Stanton Parish was on the line. Stanton told Rosen that he was very glad he was alive and wanted it to stay that way. Rosen demanded to speak to Parish in person, but Parish said that it would have to wait. So, Rosen, sluring from the loss of blood, tried to talk him out of going through with his plan. Still set on keeping Rosen alive, Parish told him to go into a storage closet where the light had been disabled and close his eyes before hanging up.
At this point, Skylar, Kat, Rachel, Nina and Bill show up at GCS in search of the generators. Nina separates from them to search for Rosen, while the others take a service elevator to get to the elevator. They are met with some of Stant's men with machine guns. While Kat and Bill deal with the men, Skylar and Rachel slip past to find the generators and disable them. Kat and Bill skillfully takes care of them men.
Above he fray, Gary located Stanton Parish using his ability at about the same time as Rosen found him in person. Parish talked about the past in what seemed to be a stall tactic. They discuss Danielle, which only upsets Rosen further. All the while, Hallucination Danielle is egging Rosen on to do what he went there to do, but Rosen whats to know what Parish wants with him. Finally, Parish tells him that he wants him to lead the Alphas after he is gone because he seems to believe that he has served his purpose and will die at 8:18pm with many others.
Realizing that he was not a murder and that Danielle would not have wanted it that way, he decided not to kill Stanton and said that they should have looked harder for a better solution. It seemed like the two had come to an understanding and were about to have a special moment when Cameron shot Parish in the head. Stanton Parish fell to the ground and Cameron planned on finishing him off, because he didn't know yet that Rosen changed his mind about it. When he tried to finish him, Rosen told him that Dani wouldn't have wanted that and talks him out of it.
Rachel used her ability to locate Rosen and heard him and Staton speaking and heard the gun shot. She lefts Kat and Skyler to go to them. Shortly there after, Nina found Rosen, Cameron, and Parish, soon followed by Bill and Rachel.
As Skylar and Kat work, they realized that some of the breakers were on the other side of the building and time was running very, very short. They were able to cut power to the rest of New York, but could not do the same for GCS. That was when they realized that they were, in the words of Kat, "screwed".
Gary watched the seconds tick away on the GCS clock and, in an attempt at saving as many lives as possible, Kat and Skylar ran through GCS and yelling at people to run and get out of the building. However, time had run out. The clock struck 8:18 pm and the lights in GCS flashed a strange sequence. Everyone collapsed to the ground. Everyone but Gary.
Gary wandered through the station, finding Kat and Skylar, and then the rest of the team. All were unresponsive.
